AB Biosciences is a biotechnology company located just outside Cambridge, Massachusetts, dedicated to advancing biomedical research through innovative protein engineering.

Our story began in 2007, when founders Yen-Ming Hsu, Hsiu-Ching Chang, and Jeng-Shin Lee — scientists from Biogen, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, and Harvard University — set out to develop target-specific protein therapeutics for autoimmune diseases. In those days, often it was a challenge for us to find reagents that met the standards needed for our internal research. Rather than compromise, we ended up building our own protein design and production capabilities, creating mammalian cell–expressed proteins, biologically highly active with exceptional purity and consistency. This approach not only fueled our therapeutic discoveries but also became the foundation of our reagent store. In 2016, we began offering these, reagents to the biomedical research community worldwide. Today, AB Biosciences supplies more than 120 high-demand protein reagents to leading institutions worldwide — including Stanford University, Roche, Merck, Johnson & Johnson, and the NIH — who rely on them for their reliability and performance.
